Names and types were read from launch-day Pokédex footage and matched to the official choice image. The video does not show a build number; evolution conditions are not verified.

Which Pokemon Monomyth starters are shown on the selection screen?
Use the creature's appearance and type together. In the official three-choice panel, the green-backed groundhog is on the left, the red creature with a white band is in the middle, and the blue cat-like creature is on the right. Matching those sprites with the public Pokedex frames identifies the names below.
The numbers are the entries shown in that footage. They help you find the exact screen again; they are not evidence of evolution levels or of how many stages each line has.
- Marmroot — Grass. Entry No001 is visible at 00:01; its sprite matches the left choice.
- Crackliss — Fire/Poison. Entry No004 is visible at 00:11; its sprite matches the middle choice.
- Mishimizu — Water. Entry No007 is visible at 00:20; its sprite matches the right choice.
Crackliss has two displayed types
Crackliss's entry shows FIRE and POISON side by side. Treat it as a dual-type choice when comparing the starters, rather than describing all three as a simple single-type Grass, Fire and Water set. The Poison label is part of its displayed typing; it is not an ability name or a promise that every attack poisons the opponent.
That extra label is a useful difference you can check before choosing. It does not, by itself, establish Crackliss's damage, speed, moves or performance against a particular boss. Those require this game's actual rules and the information available at that point in your playthrough.
Choose from the information you can actually see
If you mainly want to recognize your preferred option, start with Marmroot's Grass label, Crackliss's Fire/Poison pair or Mishimizu's Water label, then compare the designs. This gives you a concrete choice without needing to reveal later forms or story events.
There is no verified best-starter ranking in the evidence used here. Once the game makes further information available, read the moves and other details on your own screens before planning around them. A familiar type or similar-looking Pokemon from another hack is not a substitute for Monomyth data.
- Match the sprite on your selection screen to the name and visible type labels.
- If dual typing is important to your choice, note Crackliss's Poison label before deciding.
- When normal saving becomes available, keep a working backup before changing devices or attempting a trade.
- Do not assume that trading will immediately let you undo the choice or obtain all three starters.
A starter trade can be blocked by the story
Team Monomyth's trading FAQ explains that the starter you found initially belongs to someone else: ask the owner for permission before trading or releasing it. A connected Celio Link session therefore does not mean that every starter trade is already permitted.
The same FAQ lists restrictions involving story-important Pokemon, held items and progress needed to handle certain high-level Pokemon. If a trade is refused, read the message and check those restrictions before repeating the network setup. The page does not name a universal starter-unlock quest or confirm a route to collect all three.
Evolution conditions are still a separate question
The three frames used for this guide show names and types, not an evolution condition. We have not verified the level, item, friendship, time or story requirement for any of these starters. Their evolution fields remain unknown; that does not mean they cannot evolve.
To check a future evolution claim, look for the same Monomyth name, the actual evolution or condition screen, the steps taken and the game version. A later creature shown in a Pokedex list is not enough on its own to establish the relationship or trigger. This page does not fill the gap with main-series tables.
What the starter comparison on this page covers
Use the comparison to keep the three identities and their visible type labels together. It is a reference for the initial choice, not a battle simulator, catch-location guide or full Pokedex. The source links let you return to the public footage and the official selection image.
The video was published on October 30, 2026 and its description links to the official game site. It is community-uploaded gameplay, not an official database. The displayed game build is not visible in these frames, so check your own game if a later update differs.
